Over recent weeks I have been working on a text that responds to a conversation I had with artist and illustrator Chloe Bonfield during her residency at Unit3, in Lostwithiel, coordinated by Gary Marshall Stevens.
Chloe, Gary and I are working on a broadside publication that combines images, text and folding in an exploration of ideas around emblems, forms, materials, rituals, performance and is resistant to binary thinking. The publication will be launched at a conversation event in The Mess Hall, Lostwithiel on Wednesday 9th November. The drawing shows an image of a ‘Palblugurm’ from an imagined bestiary.
I have edited a digital magazine that assembles a selection of writing by students on the MA Contemporary Arts Practice and MA Fine Art at University of Plymouth. The texts were made in response to prompts and discussion in a series of seminars over the past year. Bringing these texts together in a magazine format puts them into conversation with each other. The publication offers a sense of the importance of writing on these MA courses, and the diversity of writing around and within contemporary art practice. You can read the publication
