AA2A residency at Plymouth College of Art

From this month and through the coming academic year I will be working at Plymouth College of Art. I am one of a number of artists chosen for this year’s AA2A (Artists Access to Art Colleges) scheme for PCA. The working title for my residency project is ‘toward an emblem book’.

I am compiling a Tumblr as an accompaniment to the project at http://towardanemblem.tumblr.com/

The other artists on the AA2A scheme at PCA are Library of Independent Exchange, Nick Davies, and Tessa Jane.

CAZ Weekender event on October 26th Penzance

On Friday October 26th (6-8pm), I will be at the Penlee Bowling Club on the Penzance Promenade for an informal presentation of my publication, ‘lengths and ends: six poems for Penzance’. The booklet was developed in response to spending time in the Jubilee Pool and at the Penlee Bowling Club during my CAZ Weekender residency in July.
Copies of the limited edition publication will be available on the day. There will also be refreshments.
The bowling club is situated in Penzance, just off of the promenade, in
the Bolitho Gardens, which are half way between Wherry Town, at the
western end of Penzance Promenade, and Newlyn. There is a pay and
display car park at Wherry Town and limited parking for the disabled at
the entrance to Bolitho Gardens.

WEEKENDER is a residency with an emphasis on non art contexts and is
curated by Rebecca Weeks of CAZ.  www.cazart.org.uk

Weekender, Penzance, July 13 to 15; hosted by CAZ

I will be in Penzance for the weekend of July 13th to 15th to participate in one of the CAZ (Cornwall Autonomous Zone) Weekender residencies.

I will use the weekend to write, note, sketch and gather material towards a publication later in the year. The focus of my writing and noting will be the Jubilee Pool and the Bowling Club, picking up on questions of signalling, signs, codes, and systems.
