<p>As part of EVP on Tour, at Cube, Bristol, 7.00pm, Sunday May 19th.</p>
<p>For <em>Muster Page Habit 2</em>, I propose an intersection of speech / thought and vocalisation that teases together a sensing of language as speaking through the body, that performs a talking that is thrown from the speaker outwards to a public / for a public / making public in the hope of hearing by hearers. The project considers agency and subjecthood as audited in textual representation. Tracking through word and sound it crosses <strong><span style="color: #5f9ea0;"><a href="http://samuel-beckett.net/Waiting_for_Godot_Part1.html"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">Beckett&#8217;s Lucky</span></a></span></strong>, the novels of <strong><span style="color: #5f9ea0;"><a href="http://research.hrc.utexas.edu:8080/hrcxtf/view?docId=ead/00019.xml&amp;query=brooke%20rose&amp;query-join=and"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">Christine Brooke-Rose</span></a></span></strong>, <strong><span style="color: #5f9ea0;"><a href="http://psychclassics.yorku.ca/James/Principles/prin9.htm"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">William James&#8217; writing on consciousness and speech</span></a></span></strong>, the essays of <strong><span style="color: #5f9ea0;"><a href="http://www.ias-research.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/Kleist-and-Hamburger_-_1951_-_On-the-Gradual-Construction-of-Thoughts-During-Speech.pdf"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">Heinrich von Kleist</span></a></span></strong>, and <strong><span style="color: #5f9ea0;"><a href="http://www.nebraskapress.unl.edu/product/Telephone-Book,671074.aspx"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">Avital Ronell&#8217;s</span></a><em><a href="http://www.nebraskapress.unl.edu/product/Telephone-Book,671074.aspx"><span style="color: #5f9ea0;">The Telephone Book</span></a></em></span></strong>.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ll be performing at the Bristol leg of this EVP Tour at The Cube, Bristol on Sunday May 19th. Also on the bill are Hannah Silva, and Holly Corfield-Carr, among others. The evening mixes sound art, performance, text, and installation. Tickets are available now. I will send more details of my piece soon.</p>
<p>Electronic Voice Phenomena is a new experimental literature, performance and music show that feeds on the corpse of paranormal pseudo-science.</p>
<p>The EVP programme takes its inspiration from Konstantin Raudive&#8217;s notorious &#8216;Breakthrough&#8217; experiments of the 1970s, where he captured voices-from-beyond in electronic noise. Themes of otherness, the profane and the divine join with new approaches to writing speaking and performing in a suite of new interlaced works &#8211; featuring poets <a href="http://www.electronicvoicephenomena.net/index.php/thetotalman-hannah-silva/" target="_blank">Hannah Silva</a>, <a href="http://www.electronicvoicephenomena.net/index.php/ross-sutherland-2/" target="_blank">Ross Sutherland</a> and <a href="http://www.electronicvoicephenomena.net/index.php/electric-dada/" target="_blank">SJ Fowler</a>, and hauntological synth-pop group <a href="http://www.electronicvoicephenomena.net/index.php/outfit/" target="_blank">Outfit</a>.The Bristol show also features performance and installation works by <a href="http://markleahy.net/performance/muster-page-habit-flat-head-self-tapping/" target="_blank">Mark Leahy</a> and <a href="http://hollycorfieldcarr.wordpress.com/" target="_blank">Holly Corfield Carr</a>.</p>

It marks 10 years of Hannah Jones and Rachel Dobbs working together, and includes contributions from a number of other writers. The working title for my piece is: &#8217;3 or 4 Things I Know About Them&#8217;, and it looks at some recurring aspects of LOW PROFILE&#8217;s practice across the past decade. <span style="font-size: 16px;">Looking forward to seeing the publication when it comes out. </span></p>
